Last winter we completed Dave Ramsey's "Financial Peace University" at our church. Since then we have been making and mostly sticking to a monthly budget. Using a cash envelope system, and avoiding credit cards like the plague. We have been steadily plugging away at our debt...sometimes more like mules than "gazelles" but we are getting there.
A couple weeks ago my mother in law was with us for a visit. We were driving somewhere and she was telling us about how she puts everything on her Fred Meyer card and how good the rewards are that she gets in return, when Linus piped up from the back seat: "Oh Grandma Cece, credit cards are not good!" (If only he had added that people spend on average 30% more when using a credit card vs. cash to make purchases we could say we have a financial genius on our hands...but alas he left that part out)
-But I'm sure Dave would be proud!
(p.s. I'm sure Grandma Cece pays off her credit card each month)
